Take Time for Reflection

April 03, 20252 min read

Hey Risers!

We’re stepping into another important part of our journey: Taking time for reflection. We’ve all jumped into something before we’ve really thought through the repercussions. Questions like "Should I say yes to this? Can I really handle that?" may have crossed my mind, but seldom did I really give a lot of thought to the questions. I learned something valuable: pausing to reflect can change everything.

Reflection means taking a moment to think about your choices. It's like hitting the pause button on a movie. You stop everything for a bit to understand the plot better. In real life, this "pause" helps us understand our own stories better.

Here's how you can start:

  1. Find a Quiet Spot: Look for a place where you can sit quietly without interruptions. It could be your room, a park, or even a cozy corner of a library.

  2. Ask Yourself Important Questions: Think about what you're considering. Ask yourself, "Does this fit with what I truly want? Will it make me happy? How will it affect my time with family or friends?"

  3. Listen to Your Heart and Mind: Pay attention to what you feel deep down. Sometimes, our gut feeling tells us what's right or wrong for us.

When I began doing this, my decisions started feeling more right. I wasn't just saying yes or no on the spot anymore. I was choosing based on what I really wanted and what was best for me. This didn’t just help me; it made me happier and more confident.

So, I encourage you to try it. Before you make your next big decision, take a moment to reflect. It doesn't have to be long—a few minutes can make a big difference. This little pause might just lead you to your best yes.

Remember, it's not just about making decisions; it's about making the right decisions for you. And sometimes, all it takes is a little reflection.
